
Stampede Host Lincoln Wednesday at the Sioux Falls Arena

The Sioux Falls Stampede return home to the Sioux Falls Arena this Wednesday night to face West Division rival Lincoln at 7:05 PM. The Stampede (9-8-1) will be looking to earn their first win this season against the Stars.
The Stars are 8-10-2 and one point behind the Stampede for third place in the West Division. Last weekend, the Stars went 1-1. On Friday, they fell to Chicago 7-5, but bounced back Saturday to down the Omaha Lancers 3-2. They are led by Jason Gregoire who has 25 points (9g, 16a) in 20 games.
On Friday, the Stampede will travel to Cedar Rapids for the first time this season to face the RoughRiders. Cedar Rapids is currently 12-5-1 and in second place in the East Division. Brady Hjelle has been the story for the RoughRiders, going 11-4-1 in goal with a 2.24 GAA and a .935 save percentage. Game time Friday is 7:05 PM.
The Stampede will close out their busy week on Saturday in Sioux City against the Musketeers. Sioux City is 14-4-0 and tied for first place in the West Division. Justin Brossman leads the team in scoring with 22 points (8g, 14a) in 18 games. The Stampede defeated the Muskies 6-3 in their only meeting of the season back on November 23rd in Sioux Falls. Game time is 7 PM.
The Stampede are coming off two losses at home over the weekend. On Friday, the Stampede rallied from a 3-1 third period deficit against Tri-City, but fell 4-3. On Saturday, the Stampede dropped a 4-1 decision to the Chicago Steel.
STAMPEDE ANNOUNCE NEW CAPTAINS-
The Stampede coaching staff announced this afternoon that David Grun and Sam Zabkowicz will serve as Stampede "Captains" for the month of December and into January. Nick Dineen and Jake Drewiske will serve as "assistant captains."
"This is an acknowledgement of the leadership Grun and Zabkowicz have shown this season," said Stampede head coach/GM Kevin Hartzell. "They are both in their second season in the league and have made tremendous improvements to their game. They will be great leaders for us."
Grun is tied for the Stampede lead in scoring with 21 points (6g, 15a) while Zabkowicz has 10 points (2g, 8a) as a defenseman for the Herd.
The Stampede rotate their captains throughout the course of the season, awarding those who show tremendous leadership skills on and off the ice.
HOT STUFF FOODS PLAYER APPEARANCE AT PARTICIPATING GAS STOP & GET N' GO LOCATIONS TOMORROW-
Tomorrow, (Tuesday, December 4th) is the second of five Stampede player appearances at participating "Get 'N Go" and "Gas Stop" locations from 5:30 PM to 7 PM.
The players will be on hand to promote the new Stampede "Choice of Champions," Large 5-meat pizza produced by Hot Stuff Foods. The Players will also sign autographs and pose for photos during the event.
Fans who purchase a Large "Choice of Champions" pizza will also receive a FREE Stampede Championship puck (while supplies last)! These pucks are ONLY available during this player appearance.
HOLIDAY FAMILY FEAST NEXT TUESDAY-
Next Tuesday, December 11th, the Stampede along with the Sioux Falls Jaycees and Ruby Tuesday, will be holding a "Holiday Family Feast" to benefit Toys for Tots at both Ruby Tuesday Sioux Falls locations (2425 S. Shirley Ave. & 3308 E. 10th Street) from 5-7 PM.
Stampede players will be at both locations collecting New & Unwrapped Toys for the Sioux Falls Jaycees' sponsored "Toys For Tots" program this holiday season as well as assist the wait staff and sign autographs.
Ruby Tuesday will provide the following menu option for every fan that brings in a NEW & UNWRAPPED TOY to the Restaurant during the hours of 5-7 PM:
$1.01 For any Main Entrée selection for a Child 12 & Under
$4.01 For any Main Entrée selection for a Youth (13 or older) and Adult.
In addition, everyone that donates a toy will receive two (2) Stampede tickets to an upcoming game!
FORMER STAMPEDE STARS LIFT BOWLING GREEN TO WEEKEND SWEEP
Former Stampede stars Dan Sexton, David Solway and Patrick Tiesling factored in four of Bowling Green's six goals in a 6-1 win over Wayne State Saturday night, completing a weekend sweep.
Sexton and Solway both had a goal and an assist while Tiesling added an assist as well in the win for the Falcons who improved to 8-4-0 on the season.
