Calgary, AB - The National Lacrosse League announced today that Calgary Roughnecks rookie goaltender Frankie Scigliano is the Defensive Player of the Week for Week 16.
Scigliano, in his second career NLL start, allowed six goals on 44 shots-against in Calgary's 9-6 victory over the Edmonton Rush last Saturday, including stopping 21-of-23 shots in the first half. The win clinched the West Division and top overall seed for Calgary, guaranteeing home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
The Roughnecks begin their run to the Champion's Cup with a playoff edition of the Battle of Alberta on Saturday, May 5 when they welcome the Rush to the Scotiabank Saddledome at 7:00 p.m. Radio broadcast on Sportsnet 960 The FAN begins at 7:00 p.m.
