Calgary Hitmen News Release
Calgary, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks General Manager Mike Board announced today the National Lacrosse League club has signed right-handed forward Kaleb Toth to a one-year contract.
Toth, who tallied 53 points (16g, 37a) in 16 games last season, enters his 11th campaign with the Roughnecks. The 34-year-old Calgary native is the Roughnecks all-time leader in most games played (153), goals (271), assists (349), and loose balls (311) during the regular season.
"Kaleb has always played a big role for the Roughnecks, on and off the floor," commented Board. "He provides leadership and experience on our team and is always involved in our community efforts. That combination fits for us as an organization and for Kaleb as a player."
"I am very excited to be back with the Roughnecks," said Toth. "I had ten great years under the previous ownership and look forward to a solid year with the new management. We are a young, energetic team that can build on what we accomplished last year to move us into the championship this season."
In 12 years in the NLL, Toth has won three Champions Cups: two with the Roughnecks (2004 and 2009) and one with the Toronto Rock during his rookie season in 2000.
"Kaleb is hungry to win another championship," added Board. "Like many of our returning players, he is looking to bring the NLL title back to Calgary."
Calgary Roughnecks Season Tickets are on sale now with the 2012 season opener set for January 8 against the Toronto Rock and the home opener scheduled for Saturday, January 21 when they host the Colorado Mammoth.
