Edmonton, AB - The Oil Kings emerged victorious on the strength of a game winner by Rhett Rachinski with 5.5 seconds remaining in the game to notch a 4-3 win over the visiting Prince Albert Raiders on Friday night in Edmonton. Rachinski notched his 6th of the season in heroic fashion to send the 8384 fans at Rexall Place home happy. T.J. Foster led the way with two goals and an assist on the game winner while Edmonton native Cole Benson scored his first goal in the WHL.
Oil Kings goaltender Laurent Brossoit posted an 18 save performance while the Oil Kings were 1 for 3 on the power play, holding the Raiders to 1 for 5 with the man advantage. The Oil Kings raise their record to 12-7-1-2 on the year as they prepare for a match up tomorrow night in Lethbridge.
Puck drop is set for 7:00 MST against the Hurricanes from the ENMAX Centre. All games this season will be broadcast live on the TEAM 1260 and streamed live at WHL.ca.
