Brandon, MB. -- The Brandon Wheat Kings ran their winning streak to four games and in the process, regained first place in the Western Hockey League's Eastern Division Friday night with a 6-4 victory over the visiting Medicine Hat Tigers.

Left-wingerDarian Dziurzynskiscored twice and set up two others for the Wheat Kings, who improved their record to 15-6-1-1 on the season, good for 32 points and a one point lead on the Saskatoon Blades.

With the victory, the Wheat Kings also moved into top spot in Eastern Conference as the Red Deer Rebels dropped a 4-3 Overtime Shootout decision Friday to the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

Alessio Bertaggia, Mark Stone, Paul Ciarelli andJens Meilleur - who was playing his first game since an upper body injury forced him to miss sixteen games, rounded out the scoring for the Wheat Kings, who snapped a 3-3 tie with two goals 24 seconds apart early in the third period of play.

Hunter Shinkaruk scored twice in a losing cause for the Tigers, who also got goals fromBoston LeierandJames Bettauer.

Corbin Boes, who entered the game with the fourth best goals against average in the WHL, stopped 36 of forty shots to pick up the win whileKenny Cameron turned aside 31 Brandon shots in a losing cause.

An 18-year old Saskatoon product, Boes was the league's nominee for CHL Goaltender of the Week after posting a 2-0-0 record, a 1.13 goals against average and a .965 save percentage during the past seven days.

Friday's game was the first of a busy 3-game in three night weekend road trip for the Wheat Kings, who will travel to Swift Current to meet the Broncos on Saturday night. The weekend will come to a close on Sunday night with a game between the Wheat Kings and Warriors in Moose Jaw.
