
Roughnecks Extend Winning Streak

Calgary, AB - Curtis Dickson scored his fourth of the game to break a fourth quarter tie with under one minute remaining, lifting the Calgary Roughnecks to a 9-8 win over the Edmonton Rush Saturday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Calgary, now with wins in four consecutive games, remains atop the West Division with a 4-2 record.
Jeff Shattler (1g, 2a), Aaron Pascas (3a) and Geoff Snider (3a) posted three-point efforts in game two of the four-game Homes by Avi Battle of Alberta series. Rookie Joe Resetarits, Mike Carnegie, Shawn Evans and Greg Harnett, scoring his first career NLL goal, added single tallies for Calgary.
Mark Matthews (2g, 2a) and Ryan Ward (1g, 3a) each recorded four points for Edmonton, while Jarrett Davis notched a hat trick for the visitors.
Mike Poulin stopped 45-of-53 shots in the Roughnecks' net for the win.
Calgary will now play their next three games on the road, starting Friday, February 15 when they travel to Toronto to face the Rock, followed by stops in Minnesota the next night and Washington one week later.
The next Roughnecks home game is Saturday, March 2 against the Edmonton Rush, with a 7 p.m. face-off. On March 2, Calgary will honour Kaleb Toth, the longest serving member of the Roughnecks, as the first recipient of the "Forever A Roughneck" distinction for the franchise. The Forever A Roughneck honour provides the opportunity to recognize the contributions of Roughnecks players both on the floor and in the Calgary community. Toth, accompanied by his family, will be part of an extended pre-game ceremony that will see a special banner hoisted and remain on permanent display at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
