KENT, WA - Victor Rask scored a powerplay goal 46 seconds into overtime lifting the Calgary Hitmen to a 4-3 win over the Seattle Thunderbirds Saturday night at ShoWare Centre.
Cody Sylvester forced extra time pulling Calgary even by scoring his second goal of the night and 30th of the season with 3:33 remaining. His two goals came on a night when Sylvester became only the sixth player in franchise history to play 300 regular season games in a Hitmen jersey.
Brooks Macek (1g 2a) also scored while Alex Roach chipped in a pair of assists for Calgary who overcame deficits of 2-0 and 3-2.
The Hitmen have now won three in a row improving to 4-3 on their season high nine game road trip.
Seattle outshot Calgary 39-31 but Chris Driedger made 36 saves to record the win.
Tonight also marked the 800th career regular season game as a Western Hockey League head coach for Hitmen bench boss Mike Williamson, becoming only the 12th coach in league history to hit that milestone.
The Hitmen, third in the 12 team Eastern Conference at 36-16-1-3, return to action Tuesday night in Kennewick against the Tri-City Americans. Radio Broadcast on Sportsnet 960 The Fan starts at 8:00 p.m. MDT.
