
Roughnecks Defeat Rush 18-15

Edmonton, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks scored eight goals in the second half to take game one of the four-game Homes by Avi Battle of Alberta series, defeating the Edmonton Rush 18-15 Saturday night.
Jeff Shattler led the Roughnecks with a pair of goals and six helpers. Multi-goal efforts also came from Dane Dobbie (3g, 2a), Scott Ranger (2g, 3a), Curtis Dickson (2g, 3a), Shawn Evans (2g, 2a), Geoff Snider (3g) and Daryl Veltman (2g, 1a). Jon Harnett and Joe Resetarits chipped in single markers for Calgary.
Ryan Ward led the way for the Rush with three goals and four assists, while Zach Greet (2g, 2a), Jeremy Thompson (3g), Corey Small (2g, 1a) and Mark Matthews (2g) had strong games for Edmonton.
Roughnecks netminder Mike Poulin stopped 45 of 60 shots as Calgary improves to 3-2 on the season and moves to first in the West Division.
The Roughnecks will host the Rush on Saturday, February 9 at the Scotiabank Saddledome to complete a home-and-home set, with a 7 p.m. face-off.
