The Saskatoon Blades and the Credit Union Centre have some amazing things planned for a very special night on the horizon!
25 years ago on February 9th, 1988, Saskatchewan Place (now the Credit Union Centre) officially opened its door when the Saskatoon Blades took on the Brandon Wheat Kings to a sold out crowd.
It's only fitting to celebrate the 25th Anniversary on February 9th, 2013 (25 years later) when the Saskatoon Blades meet the Lethbridge Hurricanes!
Credit Union Centre has been working with the Saskatoon Blades to have some fun at the event:
- The 50/50 pot starts at $25,000 - proceeds from the 50/50 that night will be shared between the Ronald McDonald House, Children's Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan and the Saskatoon Blades Education Fund.
- $250,000 Shootout - 1 lucky fan will get a chance to win $250,000
- Kids 12 and under can purchase an admission ticket for $2.50 plus fees
- Special Group rate discount is available for groups of 25 or more
- $2.50 Hot Dog and Drink special
- A limited number of Commemorative 25th Anniversary pucks will be available for purchase and will be used during game play
- A special pre-game ceremony will be held
- The Saskatoon Blades will be wearing the 1988 team jersey and 2 fans will win of these jerseys
- An autographed Wendel Clark Saskatoon Blades jersey will be raffled at the event
- Lots of exciting promotions, specials displays and tons of prizes will be given away
- Everyone in attendance will be given a special commemorative souvenir of the event
