
Roster moves follow preseason finale

BRIDGEPORT, CT â The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, released Forward John Morlang and Goaltender David Cann from their training-camp roster following Saturday's preseason-ending 4-3 shootout loss to the Hartford Wolf Pack at the Rinks at Shelton.
The Sound Tigers will open the 2004-05 regular season next Saturday, October 16th when they host the Albany River Rats at 7:05 p.m. at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard. Information regarding Sound Tigers ticket packages and sponsorship opportunities is available by calling 203-334-GOAL or logging on to www.soundtigers.com. Groups, organizations, companies, etc. that are interested in having a member of the Sound Tigers appear at an event are invited to call 203-334-GOAL.
The Sound Tigers will also hold an Open House at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard this Monday, October 11th from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. Fans will have an opportunity to watch the team practice at 10 a.m. then step on the ice to take a shot on goal and sit on the team bench and in the penalty box. There will also be several Sound Tigers available for autographs following practice, and the Arena concession stands will be open and offering specials. Monday's Open House will be open to the public free of charge.
