FRISCO, TEXAS (May 30, 2015) - Texas Rangers pitcher Ross Detwiler will begin a medical rehab assignment with the Frisco RoughRiders today as he recovers from left shoulder inflammation. The Rangers placed Detwiler on the 15-day disabled list on Sunday, May 17.

Detwiler, 29, is in his first season with the club after being traded from the Washington Nationals on December 12, 2014 for Chris Bostick and Abel De Los Santos. The left-handed pitcher started the season in the Rangers' starting rotation.

He spent seven years with the Nationals before the trade to Texas. Detwiler, pitching in his eighth big league season, has posted a career 4.03 earned run average in 139 career games.
