St. Lucie Mets News Release

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Dylan Rosa hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning to propel the Lakeland Flying Tigers to 2-1 win over the St. Lucie Mets on Saturday at First Data Field.

Quinn Brodey gave the Mets a brief 1-0 lead with a two-out RBI double in the bottom of the sixth.

Mets reliever Marcel Renteria got the first out of the seventh but then surrendered a triple to Brock Deatherage and the home run to Rosa on back-to-back pitches.

Max Green and Jason Foley combined to keep the Mets from scoring over the final three innings to close out the game.

The homer for Rosa spoiled a chance for Mets starter Dedniel Nunez to get his first win. Nunez was electric, shutting out the Flying Tigers over six innings. He allowed just one hit, which was a triple to Kody Clemens with two outs in the third inning.

Nunez walked one batter and struck out six while throwing 86 pitches. In Nunez's previous start he came five outs away from a no-hitter but ended up receiving another no-decision.

Lakeland starter Garrett Hill was making his Advanced-A debut. He got the win. He held the Mets to one run on two hits over six innings.

The Mets mustered just two hits. Brodey's double extended his hitting streak to four games. Manny Rodriguez also hit a double.

Blake Tiberi walked twice and scored the Mets only run.

Carlos Cortes' 10-game hitting streak was snapped. He went 0 for 4.

The Mets (24-24) and Flying Tigers (21-27) wrap up their series with a noon game on Sunday at First Data Field.
