
Ronick Dominates Fargo

Gary, IN - Ari Ronick brought a no-hitter into the sixth inning and the RailCats offense banged out 13 hits on their way to an 8-1 win over Fargo-Moorhead. With the win the RailCats (32-19) improve to a season-high 13 games over .500, while the Redhawks fall to 30-22.
Both teams had opportunities in the first three innings of the game, but both team's starting left-handers kept the bats quiet.
The RailCats had first and third with one out with Adam Klein at the plate. Danny Pulfer was picked off of first base and Klein bounced out to first to end the inning.
In the fourth, the RailCats finally broke through against starter Jon Laber. After an infield single by Ryan Babineau with two out, Christian Vitters reached on an error by second baseman Nick DelGuidice. Brian Kolb then knocked a single to left to load the bases.
Drew Martinez followed with a triple into the right-field corner to clear the bases and give the RailCats a 3-0 lead after four innings.
The RailCats offense added three more against Laber in the fifth. With one out, Adam Klein walked and Mike Massaro followed him with a single. Cristian Guerrero then followed with a double into left to score Klein.
Then, Ryan Babineau knocked a two-run single over the head of a drawn-in infield to give the RailCats a 6-0 lead after five.
Mike Massaro added another run for the RailCats in the sixth inning with an RBI single to score Danny Pulfer.
In the seventh inning, Brian Kolb knocked a double with one out and was followed by Drew Martinez who drove in his fourth run of the night to make it 8-0.
Fargo-Moorhead picked up one run off of Ronick in the 8th but the RailCats pen shut the door to preserve the win for Ronick.
Ari Ronick hit a new season high in strikeouts with eight and delivered his longest start of the season with a seven and a third inning performance.
Danny Pulfer recorded his second three hit game of the season and four other RailCats recorded multi-hit games
