
Hamburger Sizzles as Saints Take Game one Over AirHogs

Grand Prairie- The Grand Prairie AirHogs started a four-game series against the St. Paul Saints on the wrong foot, falling 2-0 Thursday night at QuikTrip Park. Mark Hamburger, the starter for St. Paul, was on fire holding the AirHogs to six hits in a complete game shutout. Yasutsugu Nishimoto was able to get two hit against Hamburger, and went 2-for-2. Micah Gibbs went 1-for-3 but his one hit was a stand up triple. Seven runners were left on base for the AirHogs.
Almost going pitch for pitch with Hamburger was Derek Blacksher, who despite getting the loss, pitched very well. Blacksher went 8.1 innings striking out five and only gave up two runs. David Quinowski and Derrick Miramontes each got an out closing out the game.
There will be three more games between the AirHogs and the Saints. Game 2 is set for Friday night at 7:05 P.M. at QuikTrip Park.
