
Rome Shutout Again

Rome, GA - The Augusta GreenJackets defeated the Rome Braves 1-0 Thursday night in front of 2,506 fans at State Mutual Stadium. Rome has been shutout four consecutive games and 41 innings. It also was the fifth consecutive game in which a team was shutout at State Mutual Stadium.
The game was dominated by pitching and defense until the sixth inning when Augusta scored the games only run on a wild pitch that allowed Juan Perez to score from third.
Rome starter Mike Minor went five shutout innings while scattering five hits and striking out nine. Michael Mehlich pitched four innings allowing just two hits, striking out four and allowing the one unearned run.
Aaron King (7-6) picks up the win going six innings and allowing just three hits for the GreenJackets while Mehlich (1-2) takes the loss for Rome. Chris Wilson earned his ninth save of the season for Augusta.
