Rocky Rodríguez Named to Costa Rica Women's National Team Roster for 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup

PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Thorns FC midfielder Rocky Rodríguez has been named to the 23-player Costa Rica Women's National Team roster for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, it was announced today.

This will mark Rodríguez's (98 caps, 55 goals) second trip to the World Cup. Costa Rica returns to the Women's World Cup for the first time since the 2015 tournament in Canada. In 2015, Rodríguez scored the first-ever goal for Costa Rica in the Women's World Cup during the group stage against Spain. Rodríguez started all three group stage matches for Costa Rica.

Costa Rica will play in Group C with Japan, Spain and Zambia. Las Ticas open group play against Spain on Friday, July 21; kickoff is set for 12:30 a.m. (Pacific) on FS1. In its second group match, Costa Rica squares off against Japan on Wednesday, July 26 at 10 p.m. (Pacific) on FS1. Costa Rica wraps up group play on Monday, July 31, taking on Zambia at 12 a.m. (Pacific) on FS1.
