New York Boulders News Release
(Ramapo, NY) - The Can-Am League announced today the Rockland Boulders third baseman Phil Cuadrado has been named the circuit's Hitter-of-the-Week for the week ending July 15. Cuadrado, a native of Carolina, Puerto Rico, had a big hand in leading his squad to an impressive string of seven wins in eight games against the top two teams in the standings, including a four-game sweep over the first place Quebec Capitales.
The switch- hitter batted .375 with 9-for-24, including three homers and eight RBI. Among his big efforts were a two-homer performance in a 13-9 win over the New Jersey Jackals on July 12, followed by a homer in the top of the ninth the following night that proved to be the deciding run in Rockland's 3-2 victory.
Cuadrado becomes the second Boulder to take home weekly honors this season, joining Ryan Mollica, who was the Hitter-of-the-Week for the period ending May 27.
