New York Boulders News Release
(Ramapo, NY) - With their crowd of 2,927 in attendance for Sunday's game against the Worcester Tornadoes, the Rockland Boulders have surpassed the 100,000 mark in total attendance for the second straight season. The Boulders currently lead the Can-Am League in attendance by a wide margin, averaging nearly 3,200 fans a game, and their total of 101,496 fans through 32 games is 20% ahead of last season's pace.
Rockland is the hottest team in the Can-Am League (and among all of independent baseball) by winning 13 of their last 16 games and thus propelling the team into the thick of the playoff race. The Boulders reached six games over .500 at 33 wins and 27 loses for the first time in franchise history and find themselves a mere one game out of a playoff spot.
To reward Boulders fans, the team has announced new tickets packages for the second half of the season to encourage fans to purchase in advance to ensure they get the best seats during the playoff drive, when many large crowds are expected at Provident Bank Park.
On Sunday, August 5th when the Boulders take on the Kansas City T-Bones at 5PM, Boulder Bird bobbleheads will be distributed to the first 1,000 fans through the gates, compliments of D.E.C. Office Solutions. Considering the popularity of the Boulder Bird and the fact this is the first bobblehead in the history of the organization, fans that don't arrive early could be left out. The "Bobblehead Pack" features four infield box ticket vouchers to any remaining 2012 home game along with a Boulder Bird bobblehead for just $40, a savings of 29%. Purchasing the "Bobblehead Pack" is the only way to ensure receiving this limited edition collectible and only 250 are available for purchase in advance of the August 5th game.
The "Go USA $20.12 Pack" includes two infield box seats plus a commemorative John Flaherty "Medal" for any of the ten Boulders home games that fall during the Olympics, which runs from July 27th to August 12th. The "Go USA $20.12 Pack" sells for just $20.12 and represents a savings of 35% off retail price. The "Go USA $20.12 Pack" addresses Boulders fans desire for additional John Flaherty "Medals" after 1,000 of them were snapped up during the original premium giveaway on June 16th, compliments of Clarkstown Coin and Jewelry.
"The Boulder Bird bobblehead is going to be an exclusive and limited item that will go fast so the "Bobblehead Pack" is the only way to guarantee yourself one," noted Ken Lehner President of the Rockland Boulders. "Meanwhile, the "Go USA $20.12" Ticket Pack is a reminder that while world class athletes are going for the gold across the pond in London right here in Rockland the Boulders are going for the playoffs."
