Corpus Christi Hooks News Release
(MIDLAND, Texas) - The Corpus Christi Hooks dropped their fourth straight game to the Midland RockHounds 8-3 Tuesday night in Midland. With the loss, the Hooks fall 5.5 games behind Midland in the Texas League South.
Midland scored two runs in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead. The Hooks scored single runs in the fourth and fifth innings making it a 3-2 Midland lead.
The RockHounds turned a one run lead into a six run lead with a five run bottom of the seventh inning. In the inning, Mark Kiger and Casey Myers both connected for two-run home runs. Hooks' reliever Carlos Hernandez gave up both two-run home runs in the inning.
Josh Miller suffered the loss for the Hooks. Miller worked five innings, giving up seven hits and three runs. Ray Aguilar picked up the win for the RockHounds, tossing seven innings wihle giving up two runs, one earned.
The Hooks travel to San Antonio for the final regular season series. In the first game of the series, RHP Chance Douglass (7-7, 3.32) will toe the slab for the Hooks, while the Missions counter with LHP Robert Rohrbaugh (4-5, 4.12).
