
Alex Gordon Named Texas League Player of the Year

WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita Wranglers third baseman has been named the Texas League Player of the Year. Gordon is the second Wichita Wranglers player to win the award. The previous winner from Wichita was Johnny Damon in 1995.
As of Aug. 29, Alex Gordon is ranked in the top five of 13 Texas League Offensive Categories. Gordon leads the Texas League in Walks, Slugging Percentage, OPS, Runs Scored and Total Bases.
Corpus Christi Manager, Dave Clark, was named the Manager of the Year. Corpus starting pitcher, Matt Albers, was named Pitcher of the Year. Albers follows Jason Hirsch as a TL Pitcher of the Year award winner. He's the second CC Pitcher of the Year in the club's two years in the league.
Gordon was also the recipient of the Texas League Player of the Week award from July 24 to July 30 and Aug. 21 to Aug. 27. He was also named the Texas League Player of the Month for July.
