For the second straight Calder Cup postseason, the Rockford IceHogs have been swept out of the tournament. The IceHogs dropped both games in the second week of the postseason at the Rockford MetroCentre to the Texas Stars. The IceHogs 11th season comes to an end, the sixth straight campaign in which the team reached the playoffs, including third straight in the AHL.

-The IceHogs have lost 10 straight Calder Cup Playoff games dating back to May 11, 2008, two shy of the AHL record set by the Buffalo Bison from 1950-1954
-Kyle Beach became the first IceHogs rookie to tally two goals in a playoff game in Rockford's AHL era
-Beach paced Rockford with three goals in the postseason
-Rookies accounted for seven of the 12 points accumulated by the IceHogs in the playoffs
-The first-year pros also scored four of the IceHogs five goals as Beach totaled three tallies and Ben Smith had one
-Rookie defenseman Brian Connelly led all IceHogs skaters with three assists in the postseason
-Rockford tallied two goals in Game 4 against Texas, breaking an eight game playoff stretch in which they tallied just one goal dating back to May 13, 2008
-Bracken Kearns was the only IceHogs skater to finish the playoffs with a positive plus/minus rating as he was +1
-The IceHogs were outscored 12-0 in the first two periods against the Stars in the West Division Semifinals and never led in the series
-Rockford did outscore Texas 5-3 in the third period
-Rockford outshot Texas in three of the four games in the West Division Semifinals and 127-107 overall in the series
Hot Hog Calder Cup Playoffs Week 2:
Rookie winger Kyle Beach tallied a pair of goals in Game 4 of the West Division Semifinals, making him the first IceHogs rookie in the team's AHL era to tally two goals in a Calder Cup Playoff game. Overall, Beach contributed three of Rockford's five goals in the team's first round loss to the Texas Stars. The two-goal performance also marked the rookie's first career multi-goal game at the professional level.
