Rockford's Captain Recalled To Chicago

Chicago, Ill.-The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled center Jake Dowell from the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs.

Dowell, 24, leads Rockford with six assists and ranks second with seven points in eight games this season. The Eau Claire, Wisconsin, native recorded one assist in five preseason contests with the Blackhawks before being assigned to the IceHogs on September 30.

Overall, Dowell has appeared in 20 regular-season games with the Blackhawks over the last two seasons (2007-09), posting three points (2G, A) and 10 penalty minutes, which includes being held scoreless in one game with the club in 2008-09. He spent the majority of last season with Rockford, ranking second on the club with a professional career-high 128 penalty minutes while also collecting 14 assists and 20 points in 75 regular-season contests.

The center is the second IceHogs skater to get recalled to Chicago, joining Jack Skille who has played five games with the parent club.

Next Home Game: Saturday, Oct. 31 vs. Milwaukee Admirals. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. After you're done trick-or-treating, come to the MetroCentre for the IceHogs and Admirals. The first 2,500 fans to the game will receive an IceHogs aluminum bottle courtesy of Culligan and 97ZOK. Also, all kids 12-and-under who come dressed in costume can trick-or-treat with the team on the ice after the game.
