Rockets To Play Last Home Game Before Holiday Break

The Kelowna Rockets will host the Wenatchee Wild for their final home at Prospera Place game before the holiday break. Following Wednesday the Rockets will be away from home for eight games, including their East Division road trip prior to the break.

It is the final meeting of the season between Wenatchee and Kelowna at Prospera Place, following Wednesday the two will meet once more in Washington in January.

Fan First Menu Game

It will be a Fan First Menu night with $2 hot dogs and $5 beer Lucky Lager. The Fan First Menu is available at all Monday to Wednesday regular season games.

Rockets Coming Off A Win

After being shutout by Seattle 2-0 on Wednesday in Kent, the Rockets responded by doubling up the T-Birds 4-2 on Saturday at Prospera Place.

Max Graham made the teddy bears fly 2:07 into the Teddy Bear Toss game, former Thunderbird Tij Iginla quickly struck again for Kelowna moments later. Seattle clawed back within one in the final second of the period with a buzzer-beater. Andrew Cristall, who returned to the lineup after missing the Rockets last four games with an injury, restored the two-goal lead in the second period with a power play marker. In the third period, Seattle and Kelowna traded goals.

Jari Kykkanen made 43 saves on 45 shots, earning the game's second star.

Streaking Wild

The Wild have won their last four games, entering Monday night they sit atop the US Division and are tied with Prince George for the Western Conference with a 16-8-2-0 record.

The Wild played just one game last weekend, downing the Spokane Chiefs 4-2 on Friday in Wenatchee.

ROCKET TO WATCH

Andrew Cristall made his return to the lineup on Saturday after missing the Rockets last four games with an upper-body injury. The Washington Capital prospect picked up first star honours after recording a three-point night (2G, 1A), including the game-winner.

WILD TO WATCH

Matthew Savoie will face the Rockets for the first time this season, the Buffalo Sabres ninth overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, was returned from the Sabres on November 11. Since joining the Wild, Savoie has recorded 12 points (6G, 6A) over six games.

THE LAST TIME THESE TWO MET

The Kelowna Rockets were shut out for the first time this season on October 28 by the Wenatchee Wild at the Town Toyota Center in Wenatchee, WA.

The Wild were able to extinguish any offensive effort from what was at the time WHL's third-highest-scoring team, including killing off seven Rocket power plays. With the win, Wenatchee extended their win streak to five games.

Jari Kykkanen made 27 saves on 31 shots, while Daniel Hauser turned aside all 30 shots he faced.

The Kelowna Rockets online 50/50 is back for the 2023-24 season!

The online 50/50 will give fans in Rockets fans located in British Columbia and those who are attending the game the chance to win during every Rockets home game this season. The 50/50 will also raise important dollars for the Kelowna Minor Hockey Association.

Tickets will be available for purchase on all game days starting at 9 a.m. PT and end at the start of the third period on the same day.

LINEUP SHEET + GAME DAY PROGRAM

Printed lineup sheets will not be available at games this season, they can be accessed online by visiting the game day program.

The Game Day Program will be available in the same spot, it comes complete with game notes, stats, team rosters and entry forms for the Rockets intermission contests.

The sheet and program will be uploaded by 3:00 p.m. on game days
