Vancouver, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants lost to the Kelowna Rockets by a score of 5-3 on Fan Appreciation Night on Friday. It was the final home game of the regular season for the Giants at the Pacific Coliseum. Radovan Bondra, Owen Hardy and Trevor Cox scored for the Giants.

The Giants opened the scoring in the first minute of the second period when Bondra potted his 15th of the season on the power play. Justin Kirkland responded for the Rockets to tie the game at 1-1. It was the first of three unanswered goals for Kelowna as Rodney Southam and Cole Linaker also chipped in on the scoreboard to make it 3-1. Hardy cut the lead to 3-2 in the final minute of the period when he scored his 5th of the season on a man advantage.

Cox tied the game at 3-3 just 12 seconds into the third period as he knocked the puck out of mid-air and into the Kelowna net. It was Cox's 98th career WHL goal. Forty-one seconds later, the Rockets re-established their lead through a Dillon Dube goal. With the goalie pulled late in the game, the Giants could not solve Herringer, and Kirkland scored an empty netter for the visitors.

Ryan Kubic made 34 saves in the loss. It was also Tyler Kuntz's first game as a Head Coach in the WHL.

The Giants will conclude the season tomorrow night in Kelowna against the Rockets. Puck drop is set for 7:00pm.
