LAVAL - Alexandre Grenier scored two goals in the Springfield Thunderbirds' 5-1 victory over the Rocket at Place Bell on Friday night, in front of a crowd of 5,839 during Laval's second to last home game.

An unlucky goal against Fucale in the first period served as the game's opening goal in a period which saw a lot of back-and-forth and neutral zone action but only one penalty, which the Rocket capitalized on.

While Curtis Valk was in the box for hooking, Chris Terry netted his 30th of the season in a game which saw him honoured for being the CCM/AHL player of the month for March prior to puck drop.

Mark Fayne sent the puck behind a screened Fucale to re-claim Springfield's lead before the halfway mark of the second and Grenier, who was named the first star of the game, netted his first of two for the visitors by the period's end. Bobby Farnham made it 4-1 for Springfield early in the third and Grenier added a fifth for his team. Third star Harri Sateri made 23 saves in the victory for the Thunderbirds.

"We'll be all of us together on the bus tomorrow, and I think it's a good way to put us back on the right track," said Anthony Beauregard after the game. "We're obviously in a tough stretch here but I think a victory on the road tomorrow will do some good for everyone's spirits."

The Rocket will be at the Yardmen arena for a 7 p.m puck drop tomorrow night against the Belleville Senators.
