Syracuse Crunch News Release

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Eddie Pasquale and the Syracuse Crunch blanked the Utica Comets, 1-0, tonight at the War Memorial Arena.

Erik Condra scored the game's lone goal to help give the Crunch their second consecutive shutout against the Comets. The win moves the Crunch to 44-20-3-5 on the season and gives Syracuse a 6-5-0-0 edge in the 12-game season series against Utica.

Pasquale stopped all 26 shots to earn his second shutout of the season and first since joining the Crunch in January. Thatcher Demko turned aside 29-of-30 between the pipes for the Comets. Syracuse capitalized on 1-of-2 power play opportunities and went a perfect 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.

After two scoreless periods, Condra broke the stalemate on the power play with 5:05 remaining in the contest. After the team circled the puck around the zone, Matthew Peca fired from the high slot. The Captain tipped the shot while screening Demko down low to earn his ninth of the season. Mitchell Stephens tallied a point on the game-winner.

The Crunch complete the weekend's three-in-three at home against the Binghamton Devils tomorrow at 5 pm.

Single game tickets and packages are on sale now and can be purchased in person at the Crunch office located inside the War Memorial Arena at 800 S.
