Checkers Have Two Playoff Clinching Scenarios Tonight

Charlotte Checkers News Release
Please be advised that the Charlotte Checkers can clinch a playoff spot tonight (Saturday) should the following occur:
* a win vs. Hershey (6 p.m.)
OR
* a Bridgeport regulation loss vs. Providence (7 p.m.)
OR
* an overtime/shootout loss vs. Hershey (6 p.m.) AND * a Bridgeport loss of any kind (regulation/overtime/shootout) vs. Providence (7 p.m.)
Should the Checkers clinch tonight, the team will immediately release additional information. Dates, times and opponent for first-round playoff games could not be determined until a later date.
Charlotte, which has four games remaining, currently holds an eight-point lead over Bridgeport, the Atlantic Division's fifth-place team, which has one game in hand. Tonight's game and tomorrow's 1 p.m. rematch with Hershey are the Checkers' final two home games of the regular season.
