Green Bay Rockers News Release
Ashwaubenon, Wis. - The Green Bay Rockers look to end a four-end game losing streak as they'll take on the Wausau Woodchucks Saturday with first pitch set for 6:35 p.m. at Capital Credit Union Park.
The pregame concert performed by Conscious Pilot will start at 5:35 p.m. and it is also Guaranteed Win Saturday presented by Rodac Development and Construction meaning if the Rockers lose, fans get a free ticket voucher to a future game.
The Rockers are now 1-4 following four straight losses after an opening night victory against Wisconsin Rapids while the Woodchucks enter this matchup with a 2-3 record and on a two-game winning streak.
Friday's game between the Rockers and Woodchucks was controlled by Wausau from start to finish, piling on nine runs on 12 hits while Green Bay only tallied three runs on six hits.
After the Rockers cut a 6-1 deficit to 6-3 in the top of the eighth, the Woodchucks tacked on three runs in the bottom half of the eighth to seal the deal and to take the first of 12 meetings between the two teams.
For Saturday's game, freshman Justin Loer (Xavier University) will make his first Rockers start after pitching 25.1 innings this past spring for the Musketeers.
Loer finished a 3.55 ERA as well, in addition to striking out 18 batters while compiling a record of 2-0 in 15 appearances in the spring of 2022.
The Woodchucks will start sophomore Jack Wenninger out of the University of Illinois after recently transferring from Murray State. Wenninger pitched 34.2 innings this past season for the Fighting Illini and finished with a 5.71 ERA.
Following the second of 12 meetings between the Woodchucks and Rockers, Green Bay will conclude a two-game homestand as they'll take on the Madison Mallards for the first time this season Sunday. First pitch is set for 1:05 p.m.
