
Rockers Earn Sweep of Mallards

Madison, Wis.- The Green Bay Rockers earned a come-from-behind win Friday night, taking down the Madison Mallards 5-3 at Warner Park.
The Rockers improve to 8-6 on the season and have now won three straight games while the Mallards dropped to 4-10 on the season through the first 14 games of the second half.
Madison struck first with an RBI single in the bottom of the first, taking a 1-0 lead through the first inning of play.
Dylan Carter pitched a scoreless second inning, keeping it a 1-0 ballgame heading into the third inning at Warner Park.
The Mallards extended their lead to 2-0 through three innings on another RBI single, but Carter struck out the side to end the frame as it remained 2-0 going into the fourth.
After Carter pitched a 1-2-3 fourth inning, Tristin Garcia brought home the first run of the game for Green Bay on an RBI single, making it a 2-1 ballgame through the first half of the contest.
Kyle Stoddard came on in relief in the bottom of the fifth and retired the Mallards in order, keeping his team in the ballgame just down 2-1 heading into the sixth.
The Rockers tied the game at two apiece in the sixth courtesy of an RBI fielder's choice from Matt Scannell, as Stoddard retired the Mallards in order once again in the bottom of the sixth, as it remained 2-2 entering the seventh inning.
Madison retook the lead in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI groundout and went on top 3-2 heading into the eighth.
Chase Hudson gave Green Bay their first lead of the night on a two-run home run over the left field wall, and then an RBI fielder's choice by Keniel De Leon made it 5-3 going into the ninth.
Following a scoreless top of the ninth, Rashad Ruff pitched a scoreless bottom half to give the Rockers the road victory at Warner Park.
The Rockers will now head to Mequon, Wis to take on the Lakeshore Chinooks Saturday night. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
