Pit Spitters Win Fifth Straight as They Roll over the Chinooks

Traverse City, MI - The Traverse City Pit Spitters crushed the Lakeshore Chinooks 12-3 Friday night to secure their fifth straight win and their ninth win in their last 11 games.
Lakeshore scored first in the top of the third for their first lead of the series. The lead would not last long, however, as the bats started to break out.
With two outs in the bottom of the third, Brennen Dorighi doubled home a pair of runs to take the lead. The next batter Marshall Toole singled home Dorighi for a 3-1 lead. The Pit Spitters would leave the bases loaded, but they would come back for more in the fourth
Six runs scored in the fourth inning on four walks and four hits. Alec Atkinson scored on a wild pitch. Colin Summerhill had an RBI single and later scored on a Toole single. Sam Tackett doubled home Toole and scored on a bases loaded walk. Evan Orzech would reach on an infield RBI single before the inning ended.
Morgan Lunceford (2-1, 2.16) pitched well with the run support. He allowed one run in five innings, striking out four in the winning decision.
Later in the bottom of the seventh, Camden Traficante and Dorighi added two more. Traficante added to his team leading RBI total with a double and Dorighi singled him home the next at bat. Atkinson would add an RBI single in the eighth to go up 12-3.
