July 22, 2022 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
St. Cloud Rox News Release
St. Cloud, MN - St. Cloud (35-12) came through with a rally in the bottom of the ninth inning to walk-off Bismarck (16-32) on Friday night, 6-5.
Ethan Mann (Dallas Baptist) came through with the big swing at the Rock Pile, stepping to the plate with the bases loaded and one out. Mann laced a single into left field with two strikes on him to score Carson Keithley (Texas State) and get the Rox to the victory.
Keithley came through with an RBI single of his own in the fourth inning and also made a huge defensive play in the ninth inning. With the game tied, Keithley threw out a runner trying to stretch a single into a double to keep the go-ahead run off base.
On the mound, the Rox got crucial bullpen performances throughout the game to keep St. Cloud in it. Jacob Moskowitz (Central Missouri) worked two-and-two-thirds innings in the middle frames giving up just two hits and striking out four Larks batters.
Late in the game, Enrique Ozoa (Southern) stepped up to get the Rox out of a jam with a strikeout in the seventh. Then, Ozoa returned for the eighth and sent the Larks down in order to keep the game tied.
The Northwoods League saves leader Chase Grillo (Washington State) came in for the ninth inning to give the Rox a chance to walk it off. Grillo posted another zero to continue his phenomenal season.
St. Cloud heads on the road over the weekend to start a four-game series with Duluth. First pitch on Saturday from Wade Stadium is scheduled for 3:05 pm. The Rox return to St. Cloud for a six-game homestand on Monday with the first two games against the Huskies. First pitch at the Rock Pile against the Huskies is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
