Rockers Dominate Watertown, Next Stop Danbury

The Rockers faced off against the Watertown Wolves in Watertown, New York last night for the fourth time this season. It was the Rockers third time competing at Watertown Arena and they were able to dominate the Wolves in their home den. The Rockers took the lead right off the bat, with a quick goal from Ross Bartlett, 44 seconds into the game.

Soon after Scott Coash was able to score another one for Motor City, after coming back from a loan to the Knoxville Ice Bears in the SPHL. The Wolves weren't giving up though, and were able to score making it 1-2 with 3:31 left in the first period.

The Rockers quickly answered back though, with a top left corner snipe from Roman Gaudet off a pass from Josh Colten and Coash. The period would end with the Rockers leading, 3-1.

The Rockers scored first again in the second period, with a goal from Ian White. Watertown then decided to make a goalie change from newly acquired Owen Liskiewicz, to Travis Smith.

However, even with the goalie change the Wolves weren't able to stop the Rockers from scoring, as Coash netted his second goal of the night, only a couple minutes after the Wolves goalie change. With Motor City leading 5-1, the Wolves tried to cut away at the four goal deficit and were able to get another one in.

The Wolves weren't able to celebrate long though, as Coash got his third of the night, only 21 seconds after Watertown's goal. The Rockers clapped back with another goal from the newly acquired forward, Dylan Johnson. Johnson got taken down on the way to the goal and was awarded a penalty shot. He was able to score, giving the Rockers the lead 7-2. Watertown was able to score one more at the end of the period, with a score of 7-3 going into the third.

The third period was scoreless for both teams, with an outstanding performance on goaltender Blake Scott, who was able to shut down all 16 of the Wolves shots on net that period. The Rockers finished the game with a 7-3 victory over the Wolves.

Motor City is now on a six game win streak and is headed to Danbury, Connecticut to play the Danbury Hat Tricks tonight at 7:30 pm and tomorrow at 7:00 pm. The Rockers are now 12-3-3 in their season.
