This will be the final meeting between these two teams this season... The Bridgeport Sound Tigers are 4th in the Eastern Conference with six points and a 2-3-1-1 record... The Maple Leafs have won the season series with the Sound Tigers with a 2-0-1-0 record... The Maple Leafs came from behind last Saturday to tie the Sound Tigers by a score of 3-3... Forward Eric Manlow is third in the AHL with 10 points on six goals and four assists. Manlow has two goals and two assists in three games against the Maple Leafs... Trent Hunter leads the AHL with four powerplay markers in seven games. Hunter has nine points on the season, five (3-2) against the Maple Leafs... Maple Leafs forward Paul Healey has six points including four goals against the Sound Tigers in three games.

The Lowell Lock Monsters are tied for 3rd in the North Division with seven points and have a 3-4-1-0 record... The Maple Leafs came from behind and won three straight games to defeat the Lock Monster in the Eastern Conference Qtr. Finals of the 2002 Calder Cup Playoffs... Lowell is coming off a 5-0 loss to the portland Pirates last Sunday. The Lock Monsters are currently on a two game losing streak... Right winger Jeff Heerema (Carolina's 1st choice, 11th overall in the 1998 Entry Draft) leads the team with eight points (4g,4a) and three powerplay markers in eight games... Goaltender Jean-Marc Pelletier has a 3-2-0 record with a 3.20 AVG. and a .912 save percentage... The Lock Monsters lead the All-Time series with a 15-7-2 record. Both teams spilt the season series last year with two wins apiece.

This will be the first regular season meeting between these two teams since the 1999-00 season... The Maple Leafs defeated the Providence Bruins two games straight in the 2002 Calder Cup qualifying round. Overall, the Maple Leafs lead the All-Time series 13-8-1... The Bruins are 2nd in the North Division with 10 points and a 4-2-2-0. They are currently on a two game unbeaten streak (1-0-1-0) after tying the Worcester Ice Cats 4-4 last Saturday... Providence is ranked 13th while on the powerplay at 16.1% and are 4th overall in penalty killing at 90.2%... Center Matt Herr has nine points (6g,3a) and four game-winning goals in just eight games... In six games goaltender Andre Rycroft has a 3-2-1 record, a 2.47 AVG. and a .921 save percentage. The Worcester Ice Cats have a 2-3-1-0 record, good for five points... The Maple Leafs won the season series last year 3-1-0-0 but Worcester leads there All-Time series with a 11-8-3 record... The Ice Cats are 23rd overall while on the power play at 13% and are ranked 19th in penalty killing at 83.7%... Worcester is currently on a three game unbeaten streak, most recently tying the Providence Bruins 4-4 last Saturday... Centerman John Pohl (2002 NCAA All-Tournament Championship Team) leads the Ice Cats with seven points (4g,3a) in five games... Left wing Sergie Varlamov (1998 Canadian Major Junior Player of the Year) has six points and leads Worcester in assists (6).

SHERWOOD PLAYER OF THE WEEK RECORD WHEN SCORING... The St. John's Maple Leafs have nominated Mikael Tellqvist as the Sherwood/AHL Player of the week for the period ending Sunday, October 27th. Last week Tellqvist appeared in three games for the Maple Leafs and posted a 3-0-0 record.

He stopped 117 of 124 shots faced, recorded a 2.33 AVG. and a .944 save percentage. On Tuesday, October 22nd in the Maple Leafs home opener, Tellqvist stopped 40 of 44 shots to lead the team to a 5-4 victory over the Manitoba Moose. On Wednesday, Tellqvist stopped 40 of 41 shots and was named the game's first star in defeating Manitoba 4-1. On Friday, Tellqvist stopped 37 of 39 shots he faced in leading the Maple Leafs to their fourth straight victory, a 4-2 win over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Tellqvist receive second star honors for his performance.

- The St. John's Maple Leafs are currently unbeaten in their last five games (4-0-1-0).
