
Craighead assigned to Moose

The Vancouver Canucks announced that they have assigned forward John Craighead to the Manitoba Moose after clearing through waivers. He agreed to terms with the Canucks on Oct. 24.
Craighead, 30, attended the Canucks training camp as a tryout and played in four pre-season games with Vancouver, recording 22 penalty minutes. Over the last four seasons, Craighead played professionally in Germany. Last season, he played 49 games with the Revier Lions, notching ten goals, 12 assists (10-12-22) and 226 penalty minutes. The rugged right winger has played five NHL regular season games, recording 10 penalty minutes with Toronto in the 1996-97 season.
The 6-foot-1, 200 pound, resident of Langley, B.C., was originally signed as a free agent by the Toronto Maple Leafs on July 22, 1996.
Craighead will meet up with the Moose on their road trip starting in Hartford.
