New Britain Rock Cats News Release
New Britain, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats of the Eastern League announced today that one of their left-handed bullpen specialists - Danbury, CT native Mike Tarsi - has been promoted to Triple-A Rochester in the International League.
The 24-year-old southpaw was a 12th Round selection by Minnesota out of the University of Connecticut in the 2007 Draft. In his first experience at the Double-A classification, the Nutmeg State resident made 17 appearances out of the bullpen for the 2011 Rock Cats. The 202-pound lefty departs for Rochester with a W-L record of 2-0, 1 Save, and an impressive 2.05 ERA.
He will join his new team in time for their 7:05 PM home game tomorrow night against the Norfolk Tides at Frontier Field. There is no corresponding move at this time to fill the vacancy on the New Britain roster that his departure creates.
