Rock Cats Outfielder Designated by Twins

New Britain, CT- The New Britain Rock Cats Baseball Club, the Double-A Eastern League Affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, have announced that OF Kenny Wilson has been designated for assignment by the Minnesota Twins. The move was made to make room for OF/1B Chris Parmelee who contract was selected by the Twins. Wilson last played for the Rock Cats on Wednesday and went 0-for-6 in the 12-inning loss to Trenton. The Rock Cats roster is at 24 players and will be one short of the Eastern League maximum for tonight's game in Bowie, Maryland.

Wilson, 24, batted .195 (8-41) with three doubles, and 1 RBI in 11 games with the Rock Cats since being claimed by the Twins and assigned to New Britain on April 24. He began the season with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on the Blue Jays 40-man roster until he was designated by Toronto on April 22. He hit safely in six of seven games with the Rock Cats, April 26 through May 2. However, Wilson was just 1 for his last 17 at the plate over his last four games played. Wilson entered the season as the Blue Jays #22 prospect in the Baseball America Prospect Handbook.
