
Rochester's Scott Evans, Steve Toll and Shawn Williams named East All-Star reserves

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Knighthawks Scott Evans, Steve Toll and Shawn Williams have been named All-Star Game reserves for the East Division. The National Lacrosse League All-Star Game will be played at Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday, March 10th at 10:00 p.m. Eastern/7:00 p.m. Pacific.
Scott Evans will make his NLL All-Star debut in Portland. Evans leads the league with 26 goals. He is also tied for sixth with 47 points (26+21). The forward is in his fourth season with the Knighthawks. He was Rochester's first-round selection (fifth overall) in the 2003 NLL Entry Draft.
Toll, transition, heads to the All-Star game for the second time as a Knighthawk. He played in the 2006 game in Toronto and now heads to Portland. He appeared in the 2002 NLL All-Star Game and led the North All-Stars to a 14-10 victory over the South. He scored three goals and added one assist en route to Game MVP honors. Toll is currently second in the league with 99 loose balls. He also has nine goals and eight assists in eight games.
The St. Catharines, Ontario, native was acquired by Rochester in 2004 from the San Jose Stealth for a first and second-round pick in the 2005 National Lacrosse League Draft. Toll spent the majority of his 11-year career with the Toronto Rock, where he won championships in 1999, 2000, 2002 and 2003.
Williams will make this fourth NLL All-Star appearance, having also played in the 2002, 2005 and 2006 games. The Scarborough, Ontario, native ranks second on the team with 43 points (16+27) in eight games. In 2004, the forward was a First Team All-Pro as he led Rochester with 45 goals and 81 points.
Each All-Star team has a total of 18 players, and all 13 NLL teams have at least one player in the All-Star Game. The East Division All-Stars will be coached by Buffalo Bandits Head Coach Darris Kilgour. He will be assisted by Rochester Knighthawks Head Coach Ed Comeau. The West Division All-Stars will be coached by Colorado Mammoth Head Coach Gary Gait. He will be assisted by Arizona Sting head coach Bob Hamley. The All-Star Game coaches were determined by teams finishing order in the 2006 NLL Playoffs.
