
Swarm's Cousins and Ward Named to NLL's All-Star Game

Saint Paul, MN - The National Lacrosse League (NLL) announced today that Minnesota Swarm defenseman Ryan Cousins and Forward Ryan Ward were named as reserves for the East Division All-Star Team at the 2007 NLL All-Star Game.
The 2007 All-Star Game will take place on Saturday, March 10th at Rose Garden in Portland, home of the Portland Lumberjax. Face-off is set for 9:00 PM Central and will air on VERSUS.
Cousins, 25 (4/1/81), has collected ten points with five goals and five assists in seven games this season. He ranks second on the team with 50 loose balls with Minnesota this season. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound team captain will appear in his third consecutive NLL All-Star Game as a reserve. Cousins scored a goal in the East's 11-10 overtime victory in the 2005 All-Star Game.
Ward, 26 (9/26/80), will make his first All-Star appearance in his fourth year in the league. The 5-foot-9, 190-pound alternate captain leads Minnesota with 39 points (11-28=39) and 28 assists. Ward has also tallied 22 loose balls in seven games with the Swarm this season.
The East and West Division All-Star teams each consist of eighteen players (sixteen runners and two goaltenders). The starting lineups for the East and West Division teams were announced Wednesday, and were determined by the combined votes of the league's general managers, league media, and fans, who voted on the league's official website. East Division head coach Darris Kilgour (Buffalo) and assistant coach Ed Comeau (Rochester), and West Division head coach Gary Gait (Colorado) and assistant coach Bob Hamley (Arizona) selected nine reserves for their respective squads. The NLL appointed the final three reserves for each division.
