Dietrich Captures Weekly Awards

BUFFALO, N.Y. (February 22, 2007) --The National Lacrosse League announced Wednesday that Buffalo's Steve Dietrich was named Overall and Defensive Player of the Week for Week Eight of the NLL season.

Dietrich stopped 49 of 57 shots to lead Buffalo to a 12-8 win over Philadelphia on Saturday night in the 2007 Hall of Fame Game. Dietrich, who last season became the first goaltender to be named the NLL Most Valuable Player, currently leads all goalies with a .798 save percentage.

The Weekly Player Awards are determined by a vote of the General Managers and Head Coaches of the League's 13 member clubs.
