Colorado Mammoth News Release
DENVER - The National Lacrosse League announced Thursday that Colorado Mammoth players John Gallant, Gee Nash, Gavin Prout and Josh Sims have been named reserves for the West Division All-Star team.
The 2007 NLL All-Star Game will be played at the Rose Garden in Portland, Ore., on Saturday, March 10. The game will be broadcast live on Versus at 8 p.m. Mountain time.
Prout will make his fourth consecutive appearance in the All-Star Game, while Nash will make his third appearance in four years. Gallant and Sims both will be making their first All-Star appearances.
"This is a nice accomplishment for our players," Mammoth general manager Steve Govett said. "I think having five Mammoth players in the All-Star Game is really an accomplishment for our entire team."
Mammoth forward Dan Carey was named a starter for the West All-Stars in an announcement on Wednesday.
Each All-Star team named 12 reserves on Thursday in addition to the six starters that were previously announced. West All-Stars head coach Gary Gait of the Mammoth and assistant coach Bob Hamley of Arizona selected nine reserves and three were appointed by the league.
