Stealth players Colin Doyle and Jeff Zywicki named Western Division All-Stars

(San Jose, CA, February 22, 2007) --- San Jose Stealth Forwards Colin Doyle and Jeff Zywicki will represent the San Jose Stealth as members of the Western Division All-Star Team on March 10 in the 2007 NLL All-Star Game at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon.

"I am really looking forward to this All-Star Game," said Doyle. "I am excited to play with some of the great western all stars that I have played against for so many years. I want to get a western win."

Doyle came to the Stealth from the Toronto Rock on Dec. 26, 2006 and has since ignited the offensive unit, leading the team in assists (26) and points (32). Doyle notched a franchise record nine assists against Calgary in the Stealth's overtime win on Jan. 12 and passed Gary Gait for fourth place on the NLL All-Time Scoring List on Jan. 26 against Chicago. This will be Doyle's first appearance as a Western Division All-Star, after representing the Rock on the Eastern Division Team in five All-Star Games.

Zywicki, who was named NLL Offensive Player of the Week for week number three, leads the Stealth in goals (19) and ranks ninth in NLL Scoring after only six games. The sophomore sensation scored a franchise record seven goals against Calgary on Jan. 12 and a season high eight points against Chicago on Jan. 26. Zywicki has notched three or more points in every game this season.

"I'm honored to play in my first All-Star Game and represent the Stealth and the Western Division," said Zywicki.

The San Jose Stealth (1-5) head back east this weekend to take on the expansion New York Titans (1-7) on Feb. 24 at 4:30 p.m. PST.

About the San Jose Stealth

The San Jose Stealth opened their 2007 NLL season on January 5 vs. Rochester at HP Pavilion in San Jose. Gary Rosyski and Jeff Zywicki each had hat-tricks in the game that showcased new Stealth acquisition Colin Doyle, but the Stealth fell to Rochester 14-11. After the heartbreaking home opener, San Jose headed to Calgary where they earned a thrilling overtime victory against the Roughnecks on Friday January 12. The Stealth returned to San Jose the next day only to drop their second home game of 2007 to Arizona 14-11. On January 19 the Stealth traveled out to Philadelphia where they suffered a last minute 9-8 loss to the Wings after a four goal fourth quarter rally. The expansion Chicago Shamrox came to San Jose on January 26 and beat the Stealth 11-10; handing the Stealth their second one goal loss in a row. February 3 the Stealth showcased Lacrosse Appreciation Night at HP Pavilion and San Jose Sharks Right Wing Patrick Rissmiller dropped the game ball for the re-match between the Stealth and the Calgary Roughnecks. Avenging their earlier loss, Calgary took down the Stealth 15-11 in the game that saw the Stealth spend thirty eight minutes in the penalty box. The next Stealth game is Saturday February 24 against the New York Titans at New York.
