
Rochester Snaps Stingers Four Game Winning Streak

The Rochester Honkers snapped the Willmar Stingers four game winning streak by defeating the Stingers 7-6 in extra innings on Monday night at Bill Taunton Stadium. The back and fourth game included five home runs belted by the two teams. Jake Stinnett paced the Stingers by hitting two home runs and driving in four. The Stingers led in the bottom of the ninth 6-5 before Matt Beyer of the Honkers hit a home run off Kurt Spomer to tie the game. The Honkers then took the lead in the top of the tenth with an RBI single by Bryan Karracker off of Stingers pitcher Jason West.
The Stingers 7-6 head to Mankato, MN to take on the MoonDogs Tuesday night at Franklin Rogers Park. You can hear the game and all 70 Stingers games on 93.5FM KSCR. The Stingers return home on Wednesday, June 15 for a 7:05pm game versus the MoonDogs. It's Replica Jersey Night presented by Cash Wise Foods. The 1st 250 kids 14 years and under will receive a replica jersey t-shirt. The 2011 season is presented by Charter.
