Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Pittsburgh Penguins today reassigned defenseman Darcy Robinson from Wheeling (ECHL) to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL), according to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Head Coach Glenn Patrick.

Robinson, 21, has two assists and four penalty minutes in five games with the Penguins this season. He recorded one assist and was a minus-two with one shot in the Nailers' 6-5 loss at Reading last night.

The 6'5", 222-pound native of Kamloops, British Columbia split last season between Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and their East Hockey League affiliate, the Wheeling Nailers. Robinson recorded five assists and 35 penalty minutes in 40 games with the Penguins and had five points (2+3) and 43 penalty minutes in 10 games with the Nailers.

He was selected by Pittsburgh in the eighth round (233rd overall) of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.

With the addition of Robinson to the roster, the Penguins now have 22 players on their roster - two goaltenders, seven defensemen and 13 forwards.

The Penguins (3-4-1) visit the Binghamton Senators (4-2-1) tonight at 7:05 p.m. at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
