SAINT JOHN, NB â The American Hockey League's 2001-02 Regular Season Champion and Eastern Conference Playoff Champion Bridgeport Sound Tigers earned a 1-0 decision, the second win in as many nights over the Saint John Flames. The loss drops the Flames record to .500 (4-4-0).
The Flames and Sound Tigers played over 50 minutes of scoreless hockey before Sound Tiger's rookie Mattias Weinhandl found a way to beat Flames netminder Dany Sabourin at 10:49 of the third period.
The Flames succeeded in shutting down the Bridgeport special teams (3 for 5 in Friday's game) which went 0 for 5 tonight.
