Indianapolis Ice News Release

IMPRESSIVE ROAD WORK: With victories this past weekend over Oklahoma City and Fort Worth, the Ice has rattled off a season-best four consecutive road wins, which also matches its longest road winning streak of last year. Indy won four straight road games during two stretches last year, while the team's all-time CHL-best mark is a six-game unbeaten string during the 1999-00 season.

GAMES IN HAND: Indy, who is 6-2-0 in its last eight games, enters this week's action with games in hand with everybody in the Northern Conference. The Ice lies just five points back of division leaders Memphis and Bossier-Shreveport, but has six games in hand with Memphis and one with the Mudbugs.

THE KING OF STREAKS: With at least a point in all three games last week, Dave Gilmore extended his point streak to an Ice season-high nine games (8G, 6A). His nine-game stretch tops Jason Baird's eight-game streak of earlier this season and is just four games shy of the CHL-best for this year set by Colorado's Ryan Tobler (13 games). The veteran centerman also leads all Icemen in goals (12) and multiple goal games (4).

A BLANKING BY "Z": Ice goaltender continued his run as one of the top rookie performers in the CHL with a 43-save shutout over Oklahoma City on Friday night. It was the second shutout of the year for the first-year netminder out of St. Mary's University (Nova Scotia) and improved his overall record to 6-2-1 to go along with a 2.24 GAA and a .933 save percentage.

OTHER TORCHERS: Jared Dumba is riding a five-game point streak (2G, 5A) and has points in nine of his last ten games (3G, 10A)...Mario Doyon has points in six of his last seven games (G, 6A) and leads all CHL defensemen in goals (7)...Doyon and teammate, Bernie John are the first defensive tandem in the CHL to record 50 points this season (13G, 37A)...John leads all CHL d-men in points (28) and has 22 points (4G, 18A) in his last 14 games.

MILESTONE MILL: Mario Doyon (400 assists) and Jason Selleke (100 Ice points) reached personal milestones in last week's play...Dave Gilmore is one goal shy of 100 for his pro career...Jared Dumba is two goals shy of 100 for his pro career.

TEAM CIRCUIT: Indy is second in the CHL on the road on the power play (10-43, 23.3%) and overall on the power play (25-125, 20.0%)...The Ice is third in the league on the road in penalty kill (31/35, 88.6%) and fourth overall (92/106, 86.8%)...Indy has outscored its opponents 28-14 in the first period of games this year.
