Laredo Bucks News Release

LAREDO, Texas – The Laredo Bucks and the Laredo Entertainment Center will assist the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) with the National 3D (Drinking and Drugged Driving) Prevention month this holiday season. The announcement was made this morning at a press conference held at the LEC.

"We offer grants to pay for overtime for local law enforcement to help enforce these laws against drinking and drugged driving," said Luis Ramirez, District Engineer for the Laredo TxDOT. "The National 3D message (Drinking and Drugged Driving) is simple, if you drink don't drive. This time of year Santa knows if you've been drinking and he knows if you are .08."

The Laredo Bucks will be assisting the 3D program this holiday season. On New Years Eve the Bucks will set aside 100 tickets that will be given out to people who register to be designated drivers that night. The tickets will be good for a future Bucks game.

"We are going to have a booth at the game on New Years Eve where fans can sign up to be designated drivers," said Bucks president John Beckelhymer. "When people celebrate with the Bucks we want them to be safe. Obviously as designated drivers they will not be drinking that night and we'll give them a ticket good for a future Bucks game. We are committed to families and we want people to know that when they come to a Bucks game at the LEC their safety is our number one concern."
