Rockford Rivets News Release

Loves Park, Il. - The Rockford Rivets (20-24) fell to the Wisconsin Woodchucks 6-2 on Friday night after the game was cut short due to weather.

Rockford went down early after the Woodchucks put up two runs in the first inning. They then put up a run in the third and three in the fourth inning to go ahead 6-0 going into the bottom of the fourth.

The Rivets then used three doubles in the bottom half of the fourth, provided by Cade Bunnell, Kian O'Brien and Zach Sehgal, to push across two runs. However, this was the only offense the Rivets could manage before the rain started to come down.

Tyler "Big Country" Thornton started on the mound for the Rivets and went 3.1 innings while allowing five earned runs and four walks. Coming into Friday's game Thornton walked only three batters on the season.

Anthony Holubecki came in for relief in the fourth inning and put in quality work out of the bullpen. He went 3.2 innings while allowing no runs, no hits and a strikeout.

The Rivets will travel to Kalamazoo on Saturday to take on the Growlers in a double header. Game one is set to start at 5:05 pm.
