
Riversharks Clinch Series with 5-3 Win over Patriots

Camden, NJ - The Camden Riversharks (15-21, 43-63) defeated the Somerset Patriots (20-16, 70-36) 5-3 Sunday afternoon at Campbell's Field. This was the final meeting of the 2015 Turnpike Series as the Patriots won the season series over the Riversharks 15-9.
In the bottom of the second inning third baseman Joel Guzman hammered a home run (8) to give Camden a 1-0 advantage.
Center fielder Jose Garcia drew a bases loaded walk in the top of the fourth inning to even the contest at 1-1.
Camden scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to grab a 5-1 lead. Center fielder Michael Rockett laced a RBI single, right fielder Carlos Guzman pounded a RBI double, and Joel Guzman launched a two run home run (9).
The Patriots cut the deficit in half in the top of the seventh as right fielder Michael Burgess hit a RBI groundout and third baseman David Vidal scored via a wild pitch as the score became 5-3.
Wes Torrez earned the win (5-5) tossing 5.1 innings while allowing one run on three hits. Will Oliver suffered the loss (1-1) going six innings while allowing five runs on seven hits. Matt Gorgen notched his 24th save of the year.
