Bridgewater, NJ- The Camden Riversharks defeated the Somerset Patriots 5-0 in front of 5,605 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Sunday evening.
Eduardo Perez walked and came around to score on an RBI double by Pedro Feliz in the top of the first to give Camden an early lead.
The Riversharks increased their lead in the third after Perez drove a two run homerun (3) over the center field wall to make the score 3-0.
Paddy Matera drove home two runs on an RBI single to left field in the top of the ninth inning for the 5-0 final.
Camden starter Kevin Reese (2-3) got the win after tossing 5.2 scoreless innings and allowing only four hits. Roy Merritt (5-3) picked up the loss, allowing three runs on four hits in 5.0 innings pitched.
The 2012 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue on the road until Monday, July 23rd when the Patriots return home to take on the Sugar Land Skeeters.
