Camden Riversharks News Release
In the midst of their fourteenth season, the Camden Riversharks attendance, in comparison to last season, has increased by an average of over 400 fans per game.
The Riversharks, who have just completed 33 of their 70 home games and the first half of the season, have seen 101,995 fans through the gates at Campbell's Field since their Opening Day on May 2nd. At this point in the 2013 season, the Riversharks total attendance was 86,064.
This has led to over a 15% increase in total attendance, and an average of 482 additional fans per game.
The Riversharks also reached their highest attended game since the 2012 season on June 5th, when 7,147 fans enjoyed afternoon baseball at Campbell's Field, mostly comprised of students and educators during one of the Riversharks most successful promotions, Baseball in Education.
During the first half of the season, the Riversharks planned many special days and nights at the ballpark for fans of all ages, including Baseball in Education, Irish Heritage Night, Costanza's Backwards Night, and Price is Right Night.
In addition to these theme nights, the Riversharks and Flyers Alumni Association hosted a Flyer Alumni Softball Game at the ballpark on June 21st, and the team entertained the crowd with penguins on May 25th, their newest friends from the Adventure Aquarium.
"Our entire organization prides itself on these special events throughout each game. Not every fan visits us solely for the baseball, and it's our job to focus on each game as a fun, family-centric experience for everyone in attendance," states Adam Lorber, Riversharks President and General Manager.
During their first weekend home series after the All-Star break, the Riversharks anticipate reaching a milestone of 3.5 million fans throughout their entire fourteen years at Campbell's Field. On the day of this achievement, the organization will honor the 3.5 millionth fan to attend a Riversharks game with a special recognition and prizes.
For the second half of the season, the Riversharks will continue to have a multitude of special events at the ballpark, such as Military Appreciation Night, Finley's Birthday, Bark in the Park presented by AAA South Jersey, Star Wars Night, and much more. In addition, on July 26th, the Riversharks and Syfy will host a special screening of "ËSharknado' in the outfield after the game.
